What is a keto diet?
A ketogenic diet is a low carbohydrate, high fat, moderate protein diet. There are many variations on a ketogenic diet, we follow a vegan ketogenic diet. The basic premise is that you’ll reduce your intake of sugar, starchy foods and grains. Then you’ll replace these with delicious wholefoods. These foods will contain healthy fats, selective proteins and certain vegetables for nutrients.
When you make the switch to this type of diet your body will shift from burning glucose for fuel to burning fats for fuel. This has many health advantages including weight loss, remission of diabetes type 2 and cognitive enhancement.
